Loss of power in higher rev range

When taking the car around 4000 rpm the traction control light comes on and it starts slowing down and can't do anything about it until you restart the car, however in 1st gear I did a racey start and changed gear at 5500 rpm but when I changed in to second as soon as it went to 4000 rpm it did it, the EPC light is always on, any ideas would be great, thanks

Have the engine computer and the Abs module scanned for codes. That will guide you into the right direction.

Thanks but I've been researching and I think I have narrowed the problem down to the mass air flow sensor that could be doing this because if the symptoms of it.
