After a collision you shouldn't be surprised if a wire was knocked off somewhere, or a wire crimped/smashed and was shorting out, draining the battery. If by compression start you mean you pushed the car and it wouldn't kick over, then you first have to make sure the key is on and there is power at the #15 terminal of the coil. Also, the battery has to be charged.

The push-on connector(black wire) at the #15 terminal, or the at the other coil terminal (green wire from the distributor), are often loose and easy to knock off. So that's the first place to check. With the key on there has to be power at the #15 terminal at the coil. If there isn't then you work your way backwards to the front of the car to find out why no power. You need a wiring diagram to find out where that #15 wire goes in the front (to the fuse box, to the headlight switch, to the ignition switch. It varies with different years). But it's easiest to look at the fuse box and see if there is a blown fuse. Replace it and you might get lucky. If you replace a blown fuse and it blows again, then you need to look for a crimped/shorted wire in the collision area.
