Car will not start after a rain

The vehicle is a 1998 vw golf gl, 145k, automatic.

It will not start after a rain, turns and turns but no start, have to wait a few hours and then magic. It starts. The distributor cap is fine, no moisture or anything. No engine lights, nothing.

NExt time it starts, spray some water in mist form starting at the plugs and work your way to the distributer.

I figured it out, thanks for the help, shouldve kept sticking with my initial thoughts on the distributor, there was barely any moisture there but I guess it was enough
