I ran over a tree and it knocked the water pump pulley loose and eventually it over heated. So it got to the point to where i replaced the head gasket and the hose connecting flang. I got it to run again fine with no overheating, and almost no noticable power loss. It ran fine for about a month and a half. Then i went and got gas one day and the engine would die down real bad off and on for short periods of time. but would still hav power enough to climb hills. I though it might be bad gas. As time went on the periods got longer and seem to be related to how much i push down the gas pedal. Then later it got to the point where i wouldnt move its self. So i got it towed home. I started it up a few days later and touched the gas just enough to get going and started driving down the road. Only when i pressed the gas passed 1/4 to the floor it would still die down and cut out and some times shut off. After a few trials it wont restart at all. Whats wrong with my car?

Sounds like you bent something when it knocked your water pump. I only say that because of the slow deterioration of your cars performance. Eg: If you bend the crankshaft just a tiny bit, and keep operating your car under that condition, its going to worsen and eventually stop operating, because once bent, it continues to warp if in operation. You have to remember that inside your engine, everything is accurately measured even to the tiniest degree. I cant tell you what is the exact problem, but I can tell you that I would check the crankshaft, and perform a compression check. Then again, it may be something as simple as a vacuum leak that has just gotten worse over time. Is your CEL light on?

It could be that but it didnt hit the water pump pully directly. It nocked the adjuster pully that tensions the belt that runs the pump. Sorry for my bad word usage
