2002 Volkswagen Jetta Door lock.

The driver side door on this VW Jetta GLS does not want to seem to lock and have the lock button go down when using the key fob, but the other doors do respond and lock buttons go down. If I use the key to try to lock the driver side door it will lock and button will go down with other doors also positively responding. Could this be nothing more than a bad door actuator on the driver side door? Thanks for your help in diagnosing the problem, and yes I am happy to donate. Thanks for your help. Steve

Thank you for the donation.

Yes, the problem is with the driver door actuator. Either it is bad or the locking motor wiring circuit is bad.

To test the door actuator, you would have to remove the door panel and test for presence of voltage when the fob is used.

Likewise you can use battery voltage to test the door actuator.
