Have you checked the coil? It is internal in the distributor. Also, there is an igniter. We need to determine which is bad.
1) Remove the distributor cap and rotor to expose the coil and igniter.
2) While cranking the engine, use a test light to determine if there is power coming from the coil or a conductor to ground. (Note: Make sure you are insulated from the component to avoid being shocked.
3) If there is spark at the coil, replace the cap and rotor and it should run. If there is no spark at the coil, go to step 4.
4) Using a test light, check for power to the negative side of the coil while the engine is being turned over. If there is no power, replace the igniter.
