Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Here are the directions for removing the switch: Pay attention to number 4 on removal. I think that is what you are looking for.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable (two ground cables on diesel engines).
2. On models with tilt steering, remove upper extension shroud by squeezing at six and twelve o'clock positions and popping free of retaining plate at three o'clock position.
3. On all models, remove steering column shroud halves.
4. Remove turn signal switch lever by grasping and using a twisting and pulling motion while pulling lever straight out from switch.
5. Peel back foam shield from switch, then disconnect electrical connectors.
6. Remove two switch attaching screws, then the switch.

INSTALLATION

1. Align switch mounting holes with holes in lock cylinder housing, then install screws and torque to 18-26 inch lbs.
2. Adhere foam shield to to switch, then install switch lever by aligning key on lever with keyway in switch and pushing lever in until fully engaged.
3. Connect electrical connectors, then install steering column shroud halves.
4. On models with tilt steering, install upper extension shroud.
5. On all models, connect battery ground cable.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,
Joe
