My truck wouldn’t start this morning. Friend jumped it, it started acting weird as I drove, pulled over to a Walmart. It was acting like it was about to shut off again (gas gauge kept going towards empty and bouncing, was full of gas). I kept revving it to keep it going as my wife ran inside Walmart. Truck ended up shutting off. Had tow company attempt a jump start. It started up 3 times but would act up then shut off. Ended up getting towed. Nearest diesel shop can’t see my truck for 3 more weeks. Yikes! Please help.

Good afternoon,

You have low voltage. That is the reason it wont run right.

If the alternator is not working, it will try to run off the battery. If the battery is less than 12.2 volts, it will not run correctly.

I would charge the batteries up to 12.6 volts.

Then start the truck and check the voltage at the battery with it running.

Let me know the results.
