The problem first started when I tried to drive the car over 30 miles an hour. I could press the gas and it would seem as though the transmission would be in neutral. The car would start to slow down no matter how much I pressed the gas the RPM's would raceway up again like it was in neutral. I replaced the speed sensor on the driver side top of the transmission but have not replaced the speed sensor on the passenger side top of transmission (the one with the gear). Now the transmission will not engage no matter where the gearshift is positioned. Not sure where to go from here.

Hi,

Is the fluid clean and full? Have you tried to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes? There are a few different things that can be causing it.

I attached a picture below showing different components related to shifting.

Is the speedometer working properly? If it is, then the speed sensor isn't the issue. After looking at the attached picture, I hope you understand why I'm suggesting having the transmission scanned.

Let me know if you have questions.
