Won't go Forward

My car will go into gear but it will not go forward. When it is put into Drive the engine just revs up. It didn't make any sound or the transmission was not slipping . All of a sudden it would not go forward. It will go backwards but that is all...Thank you so much in advance!

It won't go forward in Drive,2 or 1...the only way it will go is backwards !

Oh an the transmission was rebuilt about a year an half ago....it wasn't slipping at anything it just stoped going forward ??? Thank you so very much!!

Thanks for all the info. The place to start is always with the fluid level and condition. Here is a guide that will help with this:

If the fluid is low, then that will cause this issue, so we need to be sure to check this.

The next thing is to check the pressure in the unit.

Basically, what happens is if there is a leak internally then the transmission cannot build pressure to move the vehicle. If reverse works, we can assume the pump is working but we need to check the pressure to find out for sure what is going on.
