Thanks for all the info. The place to start is always with the fluid level and condition. Here is a guide that will help with this:

If the fluid is low, then that will cause this issue, so we need to be sure to check this.
The next thing is to check the pressure in the unit.
Basically, what happens is if there is a leak internally then the transmission cannot build pressure to move the vehicle. If reverse works, we can assume the pump is working but we need to check the pressure to find out for sure what is going on.
