I went to the gas station to get gas. Started car back up. Put it in gear and it would not go forward. Tried all of the forward gears and nothing. Tried reverse and it drives perfectly fine in reverse. Tried all forward gears again and still nothing. Had to have it towed home. I had my husband help me check the transmission fluid and he added a quart of transmission fluid.
Still only drives in reverse. I would be grateful for any advice please.
Thank you

Hi,

The first thing I recommend is to have the can-bus scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different control modules on the vehicle are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Here is a link showing how it's done:

The reason I'm suggesting this is because it can become a guessing game if we don't. That can get expensive.

Also, if the fluid is clean and full, there is a chance it is related to a pressure solenoid or other shift control solenoids or valves. Without scanning, it is unclear the cause.

Let me know if the scan is something you can do or have done.

Take care,

Joe
