I have a 2001 Honda Passport. On Saturday my daughter was driving home and the transmission just went out of drive and would not engage. It will still engage in reverse, but will not in any of the drive positions. I should also not that the gear lever is on the console and it has from time to time displayed the wrong gear position on the instrument panel or not shown any gear. Any thoughts? It doesnt slip in gear or make any strange noises.

Hi wicstro,

Thank you for the donation.

When the gear position indicator does not show, it can cause the transmission to malfunction.

Likely fault would be a bad Park Neutral Position switch.
