Good morning.

Okay, the filter is connected to the cooler lines. It is an inline filter.

It takes about one hour to replace.

Below is a picture and the procedure.

Roy

ATF Filter Replacement

NOTE: The ATF filter is not a scheduled maintenance item. Replace the filter only if it is leaking, or contaminated, or when the transmission is being overhauled or replaced with a remanufactured unit.

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, or apply the parking brake, block the rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle. Make sure it is securely supported.

2. Remove the splash shield.

3. Remove the drain plug (A), and drain the ATF.

4. Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer (B).

5. Disconnect the ATF cooler hoses (A) from the ATF filter (B).

6. Remove the ATF filter holder (C).

7. Replace the ATF filter, then secure it with the ATF filter holder and the bolt.

8. Connect the ATF cooler hoses to the ATF filter, and secure the hoses with the clips See: Fluid Line/Hose, A/T > Removal and Replacement.

9. Install the splash shield.

Hi, I found it it is on top of the transmission underneath the fuse box. Although the video was helpful it did not show the clamp removal. Is there a special tool to remove these style clamps? I have tried several pair of pliers all with no luck. Poor design I think just move it two inches forward and they are removable, I am trying not to move the fuse box. Any suggestions? Sorry for rambling it is very frustrating. Thanks, Neil

Are they the style in the picture I sent you? If they are, a good pair of needle nose pliers will grab both ears and you will be able to move the clamp.

If not, then can you post a picture of what you see?
