Hello, I have a Crosstour and my battery light comes on and makes this whinny sound like I am out of power steering fluid. Then the light goes off and everything is normal. Well yesterday it came on then all my other lights came on. I made it home and it seemed like the battery died, so I figured the alternator went out. My husband went start it up fine but it will not move when put in reverse. It will go forward. Could you please help?

It sounds like the CVT transmission has gone out which they have had problem with. But to be sure lets run the codes to see if it could be a turbine sensor that is out. Here is a guide to help us get started:

Please run down these guides and report back.

Cheers

My car is making a noise when I put it in reverse. What is wrong with it?

Where is the noise coming from exactly? There are no real automatic transmission problems with these vehicles.

In that case, I would check your brakes. It may be a brake squeal developing.
