Every time I get in my car it will start no problems move in to gear with no problems. When put into drive the car will move and I will begin to take off until the rpm reaches around 3,000 to 4,000 and my car will lose power. When I try to hit the gas it will move but feel like something is holding it back. Sometimes my car will rev up but will not move until I turn it back off and try again. I just change the transmission fluid and filter, but it did not change anything.

Good morning.

How is it when you drive normally? 3,000 to 4,000 is excessive rpm for the engine and transmission.

Is the check engine light on and is there any codes to indicate a electronic control issue?

What condition was the fluid when you change the oil/filter?

When the car acts right I have to really press on the gas for it to move when going uphill when driving regular it would reach 2,000 to 2,500 rpm's. There is no check engine light on and when we pull the pan down we looked at it, it was straight liquid red color. How it is suppose to be? There was no metal on the magnet neither.

Okay, did you change the filter when you had the pan down?

The fluid should be red.

With no codes and the issue you have, it sounds like you have an internal pressure issue in the transmission. It is a mechanical issue, not an electronic issue.

Sure, it would require a rebuild. I would plan on about 2200-2500/

You could look for a used transmission for a little more than half the price.
