My car is a Fuso with an automatic transmission that goes forward in drive up to 55 mph, but does not shift into overdrive or reverse. It has fluid and a fresh filter and it was driving fine until the day after that it would not go in reverse or overdrive. Can it be the solenoids and how do you test them? Thank you in advance. I hope you guys can help me.

You apply power to solenoids but with a ground connected but they only take about five volts. What you should do is have it scanned for codes to see if the solenoid is working or maybe a short in wiring or RCM may be the problem. It can also be a a transmission or torque converter problem as well.

It has a 1996 cab on it so it does not have a plug. I tore the dash apart looking for it, but there is none. It has a black plug on the passenger side which I disconnected to get the codes from the check engine light, but no flash and I also changed the plug on the back of the cluster but still nothing. I have also not been able to find schematics on what wires that go to the solenoids. It works fine in drive up to 55 mph, but again no reverse or overdrive that is why I thought it might be the solenoids.
