It seems as soon as my car shifts out of first gear it doesn't shift down to first again. Even from a dead stop. And at 60 mph my RPM's areover 3000. When I tap the overdrive on off my RPM's rAises maybe 100 that's it

This could be the result of several different things. Do the basics first. Check the fluid and make sure it is full. If the check engine light has come on, have the computer scanned to see if there are trans codes stored in it.

NOTE: If you haven't serviced the transmission for a long period of time and the fluid is really dirty, you may have a filter that is plugging and causing low pressure in the unit.
