2004 Toyota Tacoma 160000 miles

What is the typical lifetime of the original, factory installed shocks and struts on the Tacoma? How often should they be replaced?

shocks/struts should be replaced every 50,000 miles on average, of course most people will go much longer than this simply because they would rather have a bumpy rough ride then pay out the repairs.
