I over loaded my truck. The leaf spings are bent into an arc shape. If I use the truck without a load will it damage it? Do I dare put gravel in it again before the springs are repaired. Can I repair this with help of a friend or does it absolutely have to go to the dealer.I need the truck but it is not my primary transportation.I'm on a budget but want the truck to be safe.

Hi Terese,

It is ok to drive the vehicle without any load but bear in mind that stability is not too good so you should avoid high speed driving.

The springs should be replaced as soon as possible and overloading should be avoided after replacement.

It is not too difficult to replace the springs but you would need stands that are high enough to support the frame while the axle can be lowered to remove the springs.
