At transmission end, the speedometer is atttached with the aid of a large screw cap.
Disconnect the cable and pull the inner cable out. If it is broke any where in between, only part of the cable woud come out.
To replace the cable, you would have to get under the dash tyo see if you can disconnect the cable connector. If access is not available, you would have to remove the meter cluster.
Mark the routing of the cable and when installing, follow them. Ensure curves are as gentle as possible to prevent premature wear. Applying some greas to the inner cable before installation would help prolong cable life as factory lubrication application is minimal.
