When idling, the engine stutters with the rev going up and down rapidly and erratically. Revs only go up and down slightly (8-900 to 11-1200). I think the rev problem stems from the stuttering thing, which is more like a hi-cup. Happening about every 2-3 seconds. When it happens there is a very noticeable shudder of the car. Anyone got any ideas???

With those symptoms you have a major vacuum leak. It could be anything from a vacuum line to either the intake manifold or the brake booster. Have a mechanic do a smoke test. It is the easiest way to find a vacuum leak. Good luck
