Hi,

I brought a 2002 corolla from a private seller for $3, 300. Carfax showed everything clean. I noticed a small oil leak coming from under the vehicle on the front passenger side. I was told this may be from the head gasket. Also, clear water drips from the discharge hose coming out of the firewall near that area. It seems to leak without the a/c being turned on. The car seems to run as good as new except for those small leaks. I don't hear or smell anything abnormal. Do you think I have a serious problem on my hands?

thanks
Anthony

Hi there,

You will have to get the engine washed down and locate this oil leak, if you can get it identified let me know and I will advise on the best action for you, I feel the A/C drain is not a problem, but just keep an eye on the cooling system and get a pressure test just to be safe, this will locate any external leaks,
