When I pull the Boot release leaver, down by the drivers seat, the leaver does not have any tension on the cable. Does this need a new cable and how do you fix it yoursef?

Either the cable is broke or has come disconnected from mechanisim.

Remove plastic trim and inspect the cable, it would be easier to remoce drivers seat first.

Can you tell me how to get to the front Boot release mechanisim and how you remove the front trim to acccess the mechanism?

I have also noticed that on the boot lock in the boot the cable has come away from the back relaese mechanisim and is not taught. How do you also remove boot platic panel.

There appears to be 2 screws but on turning them nothing unscrews to enable me to view the back mechanism.

Many thanks

You have to loosen all the screws on the console, including the shift console.
