1998 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 101K miles

It was dark out, and raining for the past 8 hrs. I drove through a puddle about 3ft deep but it could have been deeper. Well I kept driving and about 2 minutes out theres a lot of thumping about 3 bps. Its less powerful in neutral gear and when accelerating. But its real bad when at idle and in Drive Gear. I dont know what it is? Please help me.

Water most likely got into some electrical connections.

Best way to fix is to get some electronics cleaner and clean ALL the electrical connectors in engine compartment.

If you have a check engine light, have codes read free at most autoparts stores.
