Valve clearance please?

Engine Mechanical problem four cylinder manual 82,000.

What is the intake and exhaust valve clearance for this engine?

Intake is.006-.010 and exhaust is.008-.012. Clearance is on a cold engine.

This engine uses shims to adjust valve clearance and you need a special tool to remove the shims and install new ones. You can get new shims from Toyota.

If the camshaft lobes are worn then the camshafts must be replaced.

This is one of those from Japan. Four cylinder two wheel drive manual wagon.

It comes with twelve valve 2E carburetor engine.

Please tell be the timing and the valve clearance.

Does it have rocker arms? It may be the 4ALC instead of the 4AFE.

Yes. This engine carries rocker arms. It is a 1198 cc carburetor engine.

Hi phillsop,

Valve clearance is.008 for both intake and exhaust, hot adjust.

Timing = 5/800 rpm.
