I have a 90 celica and have a trans problem. The trans would go through the gears fine but eventually got to the point where the car wont go anywhere. When in drive it just whines like the torque converter is strip smooth just wondering if that sounds like the problem so I can order parts. Would appericiate any feedback !

Could be torque converter. Could be a bad pump.

Check the TPS and VSS before you attempt to work on the tranny's solenoids. Remember its an electronic controlled transmission.

Last Fluid and filter change
The TPS control throttle pressure and the VSS is the governor pressure. Less expensive fluid and filter do this and see what happens-it might clear up.
