Engine Performance problem
2000 Toyota Celica 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

Figured I would give this a shot. We currently have a Toyota Celica that crankis but does not start:

1. Has Injector Pulse
2. Has spark
4. Fuel pressure regulator replace by another tech
3. Has fuel pressure (new fuel pump)
4. Runs with carb cleaner sprayed in the intake
5. No codes
6. TPS within specs

Tried:

1. The car has sat for over 1 year so I tried running the car of our motorvac system thinking it might be bad fuel, did not work.

2. Tried a CPU, did not work.

3. Tried a set of injectors from a Celica GT (not GTS), did not work.

4. Tried a MAF from a Celica GT (not GTS), did not work.

Come to the conclusion that the injectors are not injecting enough fuel to start the car but cannot figure out why. Really wanted to find out what controls how much fuel the injectors spray into the cylinders. I assume it is the camshaft position sensor BUT ALLDATA is pretty weak in providing that info.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation.

The cam angle sensor is the primary signal input for injection pulse, duration of spray time is calculated by the input signals of other sensors, it is the job of the ECU to process this information and to sent the correct duration to each injector. Have you checked valve timing, compressions, vacuum leaks, check the fault diagnosis capability of the ECU by inducing a known fault and see if it logs it in the ECU, start here.
