I just bought a brand new 2010 Toyota Camry SE about 2 weeks ago. It has only 700 miles on it but has begun leaking oil from underneath the car!
I took it to the dealership and they said it was a 'rear main leak.' They said they will need to take the engine and transmission out to repair my car.
It will take many days to get the part in to the shop, then many more days to do the repair. But it will be at no cost to me, other than having no car for a while.
I use to believe that buying new cars would mean I would not have car problems.
Is it a common occurrence for a new car to leak oil?
Should I demand a new car?
Is this 'rear main leak' going to have an effect on the life of the car and is there a better chance problems will spring up later at higher mileage? (When the warranty is out.)
