Leak is on driver side in area of thermostat housing. Is it most likely that water transfer tube that goes all the way over to water pump on the other side of engine?

Is it possible to replace this transfer tube with out pulling the intake manifold? Just replace the whole thing, water pump and remove thermostat housing and install new tube. I think it's made of the same thing as a heater hose.

thanks,
Walter

Hi there,

It would be best to lift of the top manifold, this is not a big job, but first I would pressure test the cooling system to prove exactly where the leak is, do this first.

It's a huge job to remove the two intake manafolds. That is the reason I wanted to find an easer way.

Lots of hard to get to nuts and bolts.

I do not know of any other way of doing this job, and I doubt that there is sorry.
