Transmission problem
1997 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I'm trying to order a transmission for my 97 Toyota Camry and i've been reading that there has to be a perfect match and that there's an identification tag placed on the transmission but it is in different locations. I've tried to find where it would be located on a 1997 Toyota Camry but I can not find where it would be located. I guess my question is where would the identification tag on a 97 Toyota Camry?

Hi kennethbuttler,

Thank you for the donation.

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is used for correct identification of component parts and assemblies. VIN locations are at top left corner of instrument panel and on driver's door post.

The model of the trans is A-140E.
