Electrical problem
1995 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150K miles

Greetings,

One week ago, after turning over my engine, my radio was inoperable. I also noticed that my clock no longer worked, including my side mirrors, and cigarette lighter. But, my heating console was still functioning. After parking, then returning two hours later, all of these units came back to life. The next day, upon starting up the vehicle, these areas were still dead, then, turned on and off periodically during a 15 mile trip. Now, after one week, nothing comes on at all.

During a few intermittant times, I was able to plug a battery voltage checker in my lighter area, and the battery was fine. Also, I had noticed that my "D" light had been out for about two months, and when I smacked the top of my dash - thinking I had a loose wire - that light magically appeared. Nevertheless, the other units are disfunctional.

I suspect a fuse, but...? Any guidance here?

Your help would be greatly appreciated. I would hate for something strategic to malfunction - like the engine turning off in heavy traffic!

A fuse either works or it doesnt so I dont think its a blown fuse but I do suspect its a loose fuse in the panel. Check the fuse box for a loose fuse or see if someone added a wire into the fuse box for a accessory and widened the spot for the fuse to sit in.

Thank you very much, and I'll check this. I do have a manual for my car as well. If I find this sort of "gap" what are my options?

Thanks for your help, but it's impossible to reach the Junction Box without dismantling the dash - ridiculous! I'll have to take it in.

Kindest regards.
