On my way the engine started knocking?

Took my car in for an oil change and on my way the engine started knocking. They told me there was no oil in my car. They flushed it, put in stabilizer and filled back up with oil. They told me I would need a new engine within 6 weeks. The knocking didn't go away either. Are these guys telling me the truth or not?

An empty oil crankcase will definitely ruin the engine bearings are they saying the truth yes.
