Hi there,

The A/c and the heater are two separate systems, I would get the refrigerant checked for a leak, as this is the most common cause of this problem, start here.

Hi there,

You will have to see if there is any refrigerant in the system, a check with a Hi-low gauge set will tell the tech what is going on, do this first.

I bought the camry le during the winter so I didnt know the air conditioning did not work right. I did try the air conditioner and when I tried it it worked fine. Well summer came around and I notieced that as it works great as long as the outside temp is below 70 degrees. When its hotter then 70 degreesit it doesnt blow out cold air. In fact it blows warm air. If you have any insite as to what the problem is I could really use it. Thank you.

Check the high and low pressures, could be freezing up due to air and moisture turning into ice and blocking off the orifice tube. Could also be the air blend door stuck in the heat position

Hi ashleyymarie17,

The AC light flashing could be due to :
1. Compressor clicking in and out due to excessive freon.
2. Slipping drive belt, could be faulty crank pulley.
3. Faulty A/C amplifier
4. Faulty rpm sensor ( if equipped with power steering)

I have a '92 Camry station wagon. 4 cyclinder. 260,000 miles. I have the 134A system. Air-conditoner cools for about 30 minutes, then gradually turns warm. I will let the car sit for a few hours, start out again, and the whole thinsg starts over again. Cool to warm. My mechanic keeps adding stop leak, but we can't figure out the problem? Thanks

Is it losing the 134a? I wouldnt add any more stop leak to the system. Sounds like you need to find a tech that is willing to locate the leak. If it is holding, could be the expansion valve

Yes, we add a can of 134a stop leak every month, but we can't find the leak. Can we deduce that since the air-conditioning it works for at least a half hour that it's not the condensor or the compressor?

Not necessarily. Have the tech check the evaporator core, it is located under the dash inside the car

I am not getting any pressure on my gauges which tells me that I do not believe the air conditioner compressor coming on. Could you show me the electrical part of it the pressure switches? Any necessary information relays, fuses? I really appreciate you in this matter.

Hi,

With the engine off, you should still see pressure. It's called static pressure. If there is nothing, the system has no charge, most likely the result of a leak.

Let me know if that is the case. I have sensor info, but doubt that is the issue.

Here is a link that explains what to check when the A/C isn't working:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-air-conditioner-not-working-or-is-weak

Let me know exactly what is happening and what you have already done and found.

Joe

Yes Joe, I do have static pressure with the engine off and everything off it's reading kind of low, but it do have a reading on it so I do believe it's not the high pressure switch I can rule it out and I think it might be the low pressure switch or for some reason the compressor is not engaging cycling cycling on and off.

I attached two pictures related to the switch. Take a look. The third pic explains minimum and max pressures.

What is the static pressure? Also, what is the temperature where you are located?

Let me know.
