I have a coolant leak coming from one of the the metal pipes that is attached to the housing around the water pump and thermostat. There are no bolts holding the pipe in, but it is not a part of the metal housing itself. See attached pic.

Thanks for any help suggestions!

Pop it out, clean it up and apply sealant-JB weld will work on it-

I have been unable to remove it so far. It seems glued or welded to where it is connected because it is very stiff. Although I haven't used very much force to try and remove it yet. I am worried I will just bend the pipe.

Slap the JB weld on and see if it stops the leak if not -use a blow torch on it and remove the pipe

So I came up with the perfect solution. I just slipped some 5/8th's heater hose the entire length of the pipe which covered up the leak. I then put pipe clamps at both ends. I figure that hose is made to handle the heat and pressure of a cooling system anyway so it should be fine. Almost a week later, and there are no leaks!

P.S. I guess the repair hose didn't really cover the 'entire length'. I did actually leave enough room at the other end of the pipe to reconnect the original rubber hose that goes between the pipe and the engine block.
