The Problem can be overridden by the pcm to keep it running normal, The problem should get fixed. IMHO The shop either is unfamiliar with diagnosing check engine lights or unfamiliar with the technology of cars.
It is not tune up related, if it was there would be other codes. The code has to do with an electrical problem for the lock up solenoid, the solenoid itself or the computer.
