My overhead eyeglass holder catch broke off yesterday. As a result the eyeglass door stays down and blocks the rearview mirror. My dealership has advised that the whole unit (includes the overheadlights) needs to be replaced for over $300. Is there anything else that could be done?

In this case, I would recommend looking for one in a salvage yard. Most times they are not damaged because of their location. I'm confident that the cost would be much lower for the part, and most any mechanic can replace it.

Let me know if you have other questions and have a great Christmas.
