1999 Toyota 4runner emergency break light warning light

I have a 1999 Toyota 4runner. The emergency break warning light stays on even though the break is not on. After driving for a while the light goes off and sometimes comes back on when I hit a bump or turn a curve. Where do I look to fix this problem.

I have been finding this same issue in my 1997. Have you found a solution?

s a cAll Toyotas have a switch that makes contact with either the console mounted lever or the dash mounted lever. The dash is easier to get too. Look and see if the switch is contacting the brake arm when it is all the way in. It sometmes slips out of it's housing. If so gently press it back in. If that doesnt work, black tape is a cure all!!
