Engine Mechanical problem
1989 Toyota 4Runner 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 160 Th miles

Hello,
This engine before I changed bad Head Gaskets, and Installed new Fuel Injectors. Problem is Engine will not start. I marked all Elect. connections and hoses.
1 - The injector resistance tests ok 13.7 Ohms.
2- Test circuit with noid light- test ok.
3 - I can hear injectors clicking while engine is being turned over.
Engine will fire, I believe off of the cold start injector and then DIE. QAny help will be Greatly Appreciated.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL IN JESUS NAME A-MEN!!!

Check the valve and ignition timing if its correct and also check the fuel pressure if its within specs.

Timing seems to be right on , engine will fire up , and then die right out. Ill have to buy a fuel pressure tester. Why would fuel pressure be in question when engine ran before beinging repaired?

Check it so that we can take it out of the equation and concentrate on other areas of concern. Or do this direct battery voltage to the fuel pump and see what happens.

Fuel pressure is very critical in EFI system, just go to a tool rental place most of them got it-they'll know

Fuel pressure w/o the vacuum hose disconnected: 38-44 psi and with the vacuum hose On: 33-37psi

Good Day rasmataz,
I have 40 psi at the fuel filter. Went to a few repair shops and none of them had a OBD 1 tester for older vehicle. Do you have any other ideas, all your help has been greatly appreciated.

Hello rasmataz,
I need to confirm the info you have sent. The Diagnostic connector is the same as Ck. Connector located next to the fuse box? You want me to jump out terminal Te-1 to E-1, 17 times and count the flashes each time to ck out each area you have listed? 11- flashes = ECU Power Supply, 71- Flashes =EGR System Malfunction? Wont the diagnostic connector when jumped out just keep flashing 11- times?
M. Genzano
PS Thank you for all you time, and GOD BLESS you
and your family if you have one0, IN JESUS NAME A-MEN!

Hello rasmataz,
I forgot to ask a very important question. Are we doing this without a OBD-1 Tester? What are we watching that is flashing?

Thanx Again

Hello rasmataz,
I found the answer on line, Read how many flashes on ck engine light. After jumping out TE-1 to E-1, I turned on the key and all I'm getting is a constant blinking with no pause between blinking. It just has a constant blink, what does that mean.
