Check fuel pump pressure. For directions, go to our homepage under the DIY section. Also, if the check engine light has come on, have the computer scanned to identify what trouble code is set. Most parts stores will do it for free.

I just saw that happen with a ford box truck. Turned out to be an oil passageway that blew a plug which resulted in low oil pressure which kept the truck from running. I don't work on diesels too much but that's what I think I know about that one at least.

I've had the truck to different dealers in different states all thought they fixed it but after many thousands of dollars it's still doing the same thing. Why can't the ford certified mechanics figure out what's wrong with my truck. What can I do now?

Has anyone looked at the catalytic coverter? Often times the honeycomb breaks loose, and there is intermittent struggling while the ball of platinum/steel rattles around clogging the exhaust.

Engine seams to run on one bank at a time, switching after running for a short time. Fuel pressure is good, no codes on scanner. Was driving from Kentucky to Montana and this started about half way last night. Have pulled the valve covers and wiring connectors are good, changed fuel filters.

My truck quit accelerating about a week ago. I replaced a fuse and it started working again. It happened again but this time no fuses are blown. I have no accelerator pedal or gauges. I was told to check the shifter lever and the wiring was rubbed and shorted. I replaced it with a new one and still nothing. I do not know what to check anymore. I need help.

First thought that there is a wire that is broken under the dash, the reason I think that is at first it blew a fuse, that meant there was a short. Then after replacing the fuse the truck ran. Then it happened again, what I think is that there is a wire hat had shorting out and then finally broke under the dash. Start at the fuse box and work your way to the ignition switch checking all the wiring.

I have a 2002 Ford F-250 Gasoline. While driving it loses power. Can be driving 60 mph then gradually loses mph down to 30 or less; try to give it gas and it will not go.

Possibilities here could be the throttle position, mass airflow, cam and crank sensors to include the vehicle speed sensor-also check fuel pressure if its within specs
