The timing belt broke now the car won't start. I have an understanding of the water pump belt and valve job is needed. My question is, how much to repair?

Hello,

This 2.4L DOHC engine is not an interference engine, however if the timing belt broke while you are driving there is a good chance of bent valve.

In order to fix any bent valve, the cylinder head will need to be removed. Which is about an 11-hour job, plus any parts cost.
As for the repair cost it will all depend on the shop as they all have different labor rates.
This could easily be in the few thousand-dollar range depending on the damage.

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
