Even if your timing is wrong, it will start, except it runs horribly, but it will start.
Make sure that you have spark. Pull coil wire from #1, set it about an inch away from the engine block, and have an assistant start the car. If you see blue spark coming out of the wire to the block, you have spark.
The make sure that you have fuel. Attach a fuel pressure tester to the fuel rail, and start the engine. I believe the 2.4 cyl should maintain about 40 psi of fuel pressure.
