Sometimes when accelerating the car momentarily loses power and the revs dip and the car shudders. Could it be the timing chain, camshaft position sensor or other problems? Car due is for a service in 1,000 miles. The car has done 52,000 miles and regularly serviced by garage.

Hey LOUISED85,

It sounds like it could be a fuel pump issue or the crankshaft angle sensor, have you changes the spark plug yet? this too can cause the problem you have described. Here are some links that will let you know what you are in for.

Could be the fuel pump. The garage couldn't find anything. The only thing they didn't check was the fuel pump and fuel filter. But the service reminder light is now coming on. Hopefully a service will sort it out

Hi LOUISED85,

One more though is it could be bad gas because of the wintertime moisture in the tank water could be present which can cause this problem, they do make an additive that removes the moisture you can get from Amazon or the locate parts store if you want to try that.

Best, Ken
