My Nissan Primera has suddenly started to struggle up even the slightest gradient. I have checked my oil, air filter, battery terminal connections. Although I do probably need a service soon I think everything still looks clean. I have no problems starting my car and when I am driving on the flat it drives perfectly well and has good torque

Have the fuel system checked, if presure has dropped performanc would be poor.
Check the exhaust system for clogging.
Have you checked the ignitions components such as sparks plugs etc?

Thank you for your reply, I shall book it in and get the fuel and exhaust systems checked as you suggest. The spark plugs appear to be fine and I have no problems actually starting the car.

Have the MAF cleaned as well. When MAF gets dirty, they might not work correctly.
