I was told that there are two temperature sensors, but only found one. The one in the front of the engine was replaced so where’s other one located?

Hello,

The Engine Coolant Temperature sensor [ECT] for the Power-train Control Module [PCM] or "computer" is located on the left front of the engine. The temperature switch for the temperature gauge is located in the cylinder head of your vehicle's engine. In the diagrams down below I have included a diagram and description of where each of these components is located. I hope that this helps.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks but have another question about knock sensors. Will it cause a higher idle problem?

Hello again,

No they will not. What a knock sensor does is detects detonation, when the air fuel mixture in your combustion chamber self ignites without the spark plug igniting it. This usually happens when the piston is still on the upward compression stroke and can be catastrophic to your engine's internal components. Once the knock sensor detects detonation, it sends a signal to your vehicle's Power-train Control Module [PCM] or "computer", which will retard your vehicle's ignition timing, pulling it away from detonation. Please ask this question again separately, like a new question, for archival reasons, and we can answer why you are having a high idle for you.

Thanks,
Alex
