I am looking for a diagram that shows the wiring and harness between the TCM to the range sensor. I have had no luck not even the dealer has one available. Any diagram related to TCM and/or range sensor harness and/or wiring would be a great help!

I work at a repair facility, and the customer has had the TCM replaced two times and it's still having the same issues. We need to check the wiring harness and ground wires from the TCM to the range sensor. We think the problem is coming from that area with the wiring and a diagram would really help us figure this problem out. I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi,

I need info. What size engine is it, is it 2 or 4wd, and is it a 6 or 8 speed transmission?

Also, if you have a specific code you are dealing with, let me know that as well.

See pic below.

The engine size is 5.3. Its a 4wd, 6 speed 6l80 transmission. The codes are p182e-internal mode switch indicates invalid range, and u0402- invalid data received from TCM invalid serial data received. The TCM has been replaced and programmed two times but still having same issue with vehicle going into fail safe mode. We believe it has something to do with the wiring harness or the wiring itself between the TCM and the range sensor but we cant find any current detailed diagrams of the wiring or harness for TCM so that we can chase the grounds and test the wiring. I would appreciate any kind of help for this issue. The customer is upset that it has been to two different shops with the same outcome, so we would really like to make this right for him.

Also, my tech said something about the 16 way inline transmission case connector pin out, TCM x2 pinout. VIN #3gcukrec2hg425150. If this helps.

Hi,

I attached the wiring schematic for the trans control circuit. There are two pages in my manual, but I had to cut each one in half to make them readable for you. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.

Here is a link you may find helpful:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

Interestingly, the "U" code you provided isn't showing in the manual, but the P0402 is there. After the schematics, I attached the diagnostics for the IMS. If you find it's bad, the last two pics are the directions for removal and replacement.

I hope this helps. If you aren't getting a signal from the IMS, chances are it's bad, but the diagnostics will confirm that for you.

Let me know what you find or if I can help.

Take care,

Joe
