Can I swap out the position switch in a 4l80e 2500 chevy 2000 with any 4l80e 2500 chevy 2000 because I need the one with two plugs not the one with one plug?
I bought a transmission with 56,000 miles for my truck but the position switch is different so can I change them out with out having to buy another transmission?

I have a 2000 chevy siverado 2500 2wheel drive 4l80e with position switch that has 2 plugs on it. Now I have puchase a 2000 chevy 2500 4l80e trans that can out of a van. The postion switch on it only has one plug. Can I buy a 2 plug position switch and put it on the transmission that I puchased? (The van is also 2wheel drive and both are v8, 6.0 liter)

Dont see why you cant buy a switch. Might not be cheap though. What about getting your old switch and using it? But I know fords can be nasty for tranny changing even in the same year model! Ya gotta wonder why the plugs are different. Does wiring match? # Of wires and colors?
