Hi,
I looked through the wiring schematic and here is how it works. Power is supplied to the brake light switch via fuse 16 in the interior fuse panel. From there, it goes in two different directions. First, it goes directly to the third brake light which has always worked. Second, it goes to the multi-function switch in the vehicle.
From that switch, power is then sent to both rear brake lights that aren't working. So here is what I suggest.
First, we need to check the multi-function switch for power out. At the switch, there will be an orange wire with a light blue tracer and a light green wire with an orange tracer. With the brake pedal depressed, both of those wires should have 12v.
Start there and let me know what you find. Also, it isn't a fuse or switch issue because the third brake light works. Either we have an open between the multi-function switch or the switch itself is bad.
