Grinding brakes

1992, Suzuki Sierra, My brakes grate loudly as the car is coming to a stop. They dont grate when Im braking at speed. Does anyoe know what may be wrong as Im useless with cars.

Replace the brake pads!! With grinding you have probably ruined the rotors. Do it now before you lose braking. They need to be checked every 25 to 30K and replaced as needed.
