Engine Mechanical problem
1994 Subaru Legacy 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
I removed the timing belt to put on a water pump. After I replaced the belt the car would not start. It is getting spark and gas.

Hi:
If you have spark and fuel, it should run unless you made a mistake with the timing. Are you sure it was correct when you replaced the belt?

I've had similar problem after replacing my timing belt. It was my error, the timing notch on the crankshaft (main) pulley is confusing. It appears to be one notch but it's really not. Look VERY close at the notch on the pulley, it's on the back.
Check online for close up of pulley, it should show which notch is the correct one.
