Hello,

Done it once before, no problems happened now done it again, living in a noisy city with these new car engines that are really quiet while idling.

Has any damage to be expected?. Of course that sound was heard cranking the running engine but it was all within a second. Is my car's starter designed to handle such mistakes via springs or what so ever? thanks.

if it does anything it may have put a little pressure on starter drive. do not worry about it if it is too bad the starter will go out, while I kind of doubt it, this used to happen all the time it is quite common.
